Sterling Feeding Plan

We adapted our feeding program from Ian Billinghurst's Give Your Dog a Bone and The ~Ultimate~ Diet by Kymythy, books we recommend to those starting out on raw, as they lay out the basics of the raw diet and offer guidelines for implementing such a diet.
In formulating a canine diet, the ratios of calcium/phosphorus need to be 1.2:1. The Calcium-Phosphorus Ratio Chart lists the Ca/P ratios for the foods below, as well as many others. Please note that bonemeal is not a good calcium source, as it has been heated during processing, which renders its calcium unavailable for assimilation.
